Important Points

Hard-Shulz Rule - states that the precipitating effect of an ion on dispersed phase of opposite charge increases with the valence of the ion
Chemisorption - if the forces of attraction between the adsorbate particles and adsorbent are almost of the same strength as chemical bonds adsorption is called chemical adsorption or chemisorption or Langmuir adsorption
Autocatalysis - Some reactions are slow to start with but after some time they become quite rapid and this is due to the formation of one of the products (during the reations) which acts as a catalyst. This phenomenon is called autocatalysis.
Promoters - The addition of small amount of foreign substance which are not themselves catalytically active but sometimes increase the activity of the catalyst. These substances are called promoters.
