Tips and Tricks on Optics

Coherent sources are those in which wave trains have constant or zero phase difference. For coherent sources please remember the following
i) The coherent sources cannot be two separate sources.
ii) They must be derived from a single source either by division of wave front or by division of amplitude. iii) Only two different lasers could be coherent.

Each fringe in YSDE has equal intensity while in diffraction the intensity falls as the fringe order increases.
