Tips and Tricks on Differential Equations


To form a differential equation of a given curve, differentiate with respect to the independent variable (say x) as many times as the number of arbitrary constants occurring in the equation of the curve and then eliminate all the arbitrary constants.

The solution of a differential equation which contains a number of arbitrary constants equal to the order of the differential equations is called the general solution or complete integral of the differential equation.

Form in which variable are separable: It is of the form f(x). dx + f(y).ay = 0 Simply integrate it to get the required solution.
