It's +1 because there is also a peroxide linkage between o atoms. H-O-O-H

It's -1 because there is also a peroxide linkage between o atoms. H-O-O-H and hydrogen have always +1 oxidation state (expect metallic-hydride) other concept- ion form of peroxide O is O2^-2 i.e two oxygen have -2 charge than one oxygen haive -1 charge. hence oxidation oxygen in peroxide case always -1
