If E=5, and HOTEL=12, thrn what is thecodeof LAMB

LAMB = 7 sol : the code is A=1, B=2, C=3... the formula is = sum of the letters / no. of letters in the word i.e. HOTEL = 8 + 15 + 18 + 5 + 12 / 5 = 60 / 5 = 12 so, LAMB = 12 + 1 + 13 + 2 / 4 = 28 / 4 = 7 nice question ... :)

no,7 would not be the solution because the formula stated sum of letters/no.of letters would give the answer of HOTEL as 58 not 60. you can see 5+15+18+5+12=58. so 7 could not be the correct answer as the formula taken is wrong.

I don't get it. Isn't it supposed to be 8+15+20+5+12 for HOTEL.In that case it sums up to 60.So I'm guessing 7 is the correct answer for LAMB.
