Details About JEE Main 2017 Exam

In pursuance of MHRD's directions and subsequent decision of the JEE Apex Board on JEE (Main) and (Advanced, the JEE (Main) Examination, (hitherto known as AIEEE - Paper I) for admissions to B.E./B.Tech courses at NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs will be held. The JEE (Main) (Paper I of earlier AIEEE) for B.E./B.Tech will be held in two modes, viz offline and online (CBT). The examination (Paper II of earlier AIEEE) for admissions to B.Arch/B.Planning courses at NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs will be in offline mode only. The admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE(Main). The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization. The States of Gujarat, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) - 2016 application form online. A Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2015 has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 87 institutes for the academic year 2015-16. This includes 18 IITs, ISM, 31 NITs, 18 IIITs and 18 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform from this year. For more information about seat allocation in different institutes, visit: http://josaa.nic.in/seatinfo/root/seatmatrix.aspx Objective type paper with equal weightage to physics, chemistry and mathematics.The JEE (Main) (Paper I) will have one objective type question paper. The paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The duration of the paper will be 3 (Three) Hours. The Paper II for admissions to B.Arch/B.Planning courses at NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs will have one Question Paper consisting of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test as per past practice of AIEEE. The duration of the paper will be 3 (Three) Hours.
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03 (three).

JEE Main 2017 News and Exam Notifications

  • The Result of the JEE Main exam 2016 will be released on 27th of April 2016.
  • Check JEE Main Result 2016 at www.jeemain.nic.in.
  • The online application process for JEE-Mains 2016 will start from 1st December, 2015 onwards.
  • The entire application process is online, including uploading of photograph & signature and payment of fee the candidates are required NOT to send any document to JEE (Main) Secretariat.
  • Online application has to be submitted through JEE (Main) -2016 website www.jeemain.nic.in.
  • The last date for filling the JEE-Mains application form is 31th December, 2015.
  • JEE Main 2016 offline (Pen & Paper Based) entrance exam will be conducted on April 03, 2016 (Sunday).
  • JEE Main 2016 Computer Based Test will be conducted on the 9th and 10th April 2016 (Saturday & Sunday).
