Question on Alcohol Phenol Ether

Nitrobenzene does not undergo the friedel crafts reaction as it is a powerful deactivating substituent so we can use this as a solvent

"other ortho-para directing also dont show fridel craft then why only nitrobenzene is preffered"

By the way ortho-para directors are strong activators but nitro group is a strong deactivator

Nitrobenzene is used as a solvent for friedal crafts reaction bcoz

1) it has high dielectric constant

2) Also AlCl3 can interact with the nitrobenzne
to form complex C6H5NO2.AlCl3 which is soluble in
excess nitrobenzene hence a good solvent
