this can be best explained with a diagram, u can draw in ur notebook

AB-heght of window = 60 m

CD - Height of opposite house - we have to calculate this

E is the point on CD 60 m above the ground, so DE = 60, CE = ?

Now Tan 45 = DE/AE or AE = 60

Now CE/AE=Tan 60 or CE = 60 root(3)

Total height, CD=60+60 root(3) =60{1 + root(3)}

from a window,60 m high above the ground, of a house in a street, the angles of elevation and depression of the top and foot of another house on the opposite site of the sheet 60' AND 45' respectively. show that the height of the opposite house is 60(1+3)
