Phonol is also a alcohol.It is a aromatic alcohol.Alcohols have -o-h functional group where ethers have -c-0-c- functional group. CH3-CH2-OH is alcohol(Ethyl alcohol) CH3-O-CH3 is ether(dimethyl ether) C6H5-OH is phenol only the funtional group difference. |
